1. Agreement and operator
This agreement governs use of the GaleWeave™ service at galeweave.com and its web, Windows, Android, and Personal Node clients. GaleWeave™ is operated by Felisora, an Ontario-registered sole proprietorship owned by Brady Gibb. By creating an account, signing in, or using the service, you agree to this agreement and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally capable of accepting this agreement or use the service with authorization from a parent, guardian, or household administrator. Provide accurate registration information, keep credentials and devices secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by the operator’s failure to use reasonable safeguards.
3. Self-hosted and federated features
Server Operators control their accounts, libraries, settings, backups, network exposure, and availability. Personal Nodes and shared libraries may be operated by other people and may become unavailable independently. Access permission does not transfer ownership. The GaleWeave™ project does not guarantee that an independently operated server or node is lawful, secure, or affiliated with the project maintainers.
4. Your content and licence
You retain your rights in content you provide. You grant the Server Operator a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, transcode, transmit, display, and back up that content only as needed to operate requested GaleWeave™ features, enforce security, and comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for temporary backups, copies received by other users, and legally required retention.
5. Media responsibilities
You must have the legal right to store, stream, transcode, download, or share each movie, show, song, image, attachment, and other item you provide. Do not infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or contractual rights. GaleWeave™ does not grant rights to media merely because a technical sharing feature is available.
6. Messaging and acceptable use
Do not harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, defraud, distribute malware, exploit minors, send spam, evade security controls, interfere with the service, or share another person’s confidential information without authority. Users are prohibited from reverse-engineering, scraping, or scraping data from this service to build competing products. Conversation and friend requests may be accepted or declined. Administrators do not receive an attachment browsing or moderation-download tool; this does not prevent removal of accounts, conversations, or content when reported and lawfully accessible.
7. Encryption
Only conversations visibly marked End-to-end encrypted and successfully enrolled on participating devices should be treated as E2EE. Safety-code verification is recommended. Legacy conversations and metadata are not protected by E2EE. Losing device keys, clearing application data, removing devices, or defects in this beta may make encrypted history unavailable. Encryption must not be used to facilitate unlawful conduct.
8. Remote access and security
Remote access can expose accounts, nodes, and media to the internet. Use the official HTTPS address, current clients, strong unique passwords, least-privilege permissions, and protected devices. Do not bypass certificate warnings or authentication requirements. You are responsible for the security of devices and networks you administer.
9. Private Beta service
GaleWeave™ is invitation-only pre-release beta software. Features—including OpenMLS encryption, Personal Node remote sharing, casting, transcoding, synchronization, and installers—may be incomplete, change without notice, or fail. Maintain independent backups and do not rely on GaleWeave™ as the sole copy of media, messages, encryption keys, or account records.
10. Enforcement and termination
The Server Operator may restrict or terminate access, remove shared content, or preserve narrowly relevant records when reasonably necessary to address security, unlawful activity, material breach, service integrity, or a specific legal obligation. Where practical and safe, notice and an opportunity to correct the issue will be provided. Except for the non-deletable Owner profile, you may permanently delete your own account from Profile settings after confirming your current password and profile name. The deletion scope and limited exceptions are described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Third-party services
Optional hosting, security, email, metadata, trailer, casting, and network services are governed by their providers’ terms. GaleWeave™ is not responsible for third-party availability or independent processing. Links and integrations do not imply endorsement.
12. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the beta service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, compatibility, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from vulnerabilities. Neither this agreement nor the software excludes statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability may legally be limited, the Server Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the beta service.
13. Changes and severability
Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and additional notice or consent where required. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
14. Law and contact
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer or other mandatory law gives you the right to bring a proceeding elsewhere. Before filing a claim, contact support@galeweave.com so the parties can try to resolve it informally. Privacy matters and complaints should be sent to privacy@galeweave.com.
